In Congress

The Airport and Airway Extension Act of 2011 (H.R. 1079) has been referred to the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I) and the Ways and Means Committee. The bill would extend the Airport and Airway Trust Fund and related taxes and programs.

The Energy Tax Prevention Act of 2011 (H.R. 910) has been ordered reported out of committee. The bill would prevent the Environmental Protection Agency from issuing rules to relating to the emission of greenhouse gases to address climate change.

The TIFIA Expansion Act of 2011 (H.R. 1123) has been referred to the House T&I Committee. The act would change provisions of the Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act and extend authorization to 2015.

The Hill is reporting that Sen. John Kerry (MA) plans to introduce the BUILD Act to create a national infrastructure bank. The bill would create an authority to oversee a $10 billion fund and make loans and guarantees for large infrastructure projects.
