House Passes Jobs for Main Street Act

The U.S. House of Representatives recently passed the Jobs for Main Street Act (H.R. 2847). The bill would add $1 billion to both the drinking water and clean water state revolving funds. Like the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act, the bill would waive state matching requirements and direct 20 percent of the funds to green projects. In addition, the act would direct half of the funds to loan forgiveness (i.e. grants).
