Representative Charlie Melancon (Louisiana) has introduced “Ratepayer Recovery Act of 2007” (H.R. 6013). The bill would allow private and invester-owned natural gas and electrical utilities to receive federal aid to repair disaster-damaged transmission and distribution infrastructure.
