New Environmental Services Director Appointed in Region 7

On February 19, 2008, Ron Hammerschmidt will take over leadership of the Environmental Services Division at the Environmental Protection Agency’s Region 7 where he will oversee field activities and a testing laboratory. Hammerschmidt previously served as director of the Division of the Environment at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE). He has a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In addition to his service at KDHE, he has been active in the Environmental Council of the States.
