Weather “Mitigation” Bill Introduced in Senate

Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (Texas) has introduced a bill (S.1807) to create a board to promote and fund research in weather mitigation. As defined by the bill, weather mitigation includes efforts to artificially control cloud formation and precipitation. A very similar bill was introduced in the House of Representatives. The bills differ in that the Senate version would place the board in the National Science Foundation, while in the House version it would be housed in the Department of Commerce.
