President Barack Obama recently addressed Congress to proposes a $447 billion plan to stimulate the ecomony. He didn’t use the word “stimulus.” He spoke a lot about jobs, though, and is looking to construction as one way to do it. The proposal combines spending and tax breaks. It is bigger than anything the House of Representatives will likely be comfortable passing, but House leaders have indicated there are portions of the proposal they can get behind.
