Drinking Water Not Getting as Much of Stimulus Package as Advocates Hoped

Advocates for drinking water, like the American Water Works Association, had hoped the proposed economic stimulus package would include $10 billion for improvements to drinking water systems. The present bill includes $2 billion for that purpose through the drinking water state revolving fund. Conceivably drinking water projects could be funded under some of the other parts of the parts of the bill, but this would still fall short of the $10 billion hoped for.
